The work of Canadian bred illustrator Randy Ortiz are explorations — with each piece he uncovers something beautiful and unique. His charcoal drawings have an insane level of odd depth, his approach to that soft and pliable medium results in ghost-like images that are as dark and murderous as they are epic and calm. When working digitally Ortiz has a pin-sharp clarity to his illustrations, each element captured in a perfect still life.
On Friday November 14th Ortiz will release two new pieces, ‘Manitoba I‘ and ‘Manitoba II.’ These two drawings wonderfully combine Ortiz’s two styles, the depth of charcoal on paper with the bright shock of digital work. Ortiz manages to get his own unique humor into these pieces as well, with a nod to Mike Mitchell in the mix.
‘Manitoba I’ and ‘Manitoba II’ will be available on Friday November 14th at 1PM CST at Ortiz’s online shop.
