There is a subtle loveliness to the work of Heather Monahan (aka Cheeky Design). In her illustrated poster for Hal Ashby’s cult classic film Harold & Maude, the line work has a decorative flow, the likenesses of the film’s stars traced with deliberate weight and form.
For Ghostbusters, Monahan takes a playful approach to the faces — each a vague caricature, exact and comic. Monahan keeps an even hand, drawing just enough to keep each illustration fresh, the lark of inspiration and intent left on the page.
