2016 marked the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service, the agency created to preserve America’s historic and geological wonders. In commemoration, the Fifty-Nine Parks Print Series debuted with illustrator Eric Nyffeler‘s take on Grand Teton National Park, a poster that highlights the terrain of Wyoming’s Teton Range.
Since that first poster, the series has brought together some of illustration and printmaking’s finest creators to bring each of the fifty-nine national parks to life. In between releases of parks posters the series has featured monuments, maps, and the wildlife of the country. The posters have spawned a board game, a backpack, postcards, notebooks, and finally, a book collecting the posters with travel tips, maps, and guides. The book, The Art of the National Parks, organizes all of that in printed form to educate, excite, and inspire us to explore our Nation’s parks.
