The world that illustrator Felicia Chiao creates is one of vivid dreams. In her illustrations, she shows us a self divided, yin and yang, the self and the other-self. There’s a sense of discovery in each piece — the subjects falling into the unknown of the common life. No matter the oddness of the scenario, the yin and yang figures keep a firm smile, the darkness is not that dark and the mysteries pleasant.
Chiao’s illustrations keep a muted palette, ink on tan paper. Visual meditations of the id and the super-ego. Each piece plays like a fragment from a dream, a false memory.
