The weekend of July 23rd, San Diego will play host to Comic-Con – a convention hall a block wide full of the latest in games, films, comics, and collectibles. It’s an incredibly immersive experience – overwhelming from the first second.
One of the artists on my personal ‘must see’ list is illustrator Kevin Tong. For those that didn’t get to see the exhibit, Tong will be debuting his recent posters from his Mondo event ‘Info-Rama,’ where his work hung alongside fellow illustrators Tom Whalen and Matt Taylor. Outside of Austin, this will be the first chance to see these posters in the flesh.
Tong will debut a new poster at Comic Con, ‘Pyre’ is a 9″ x 9″ screen print with metallic and split fountain inks.
Tong will also have three designs, ‘Death of Love,’ ‘Cat Coffin,’ and ‘Organ Moth,’ available on shirts, pins, stickers, tote bags, and notebooks. Each design will also be available as 7″ x 7″ prints. All will be available separately, but Tong is also offering fans a chance to buy a tote bag and fill it with variety of his new products at a special price.
In past years, Tong has had a variety of rare and hard to find prints that are no longer his store available in San Diego, and with his close relationship with the Mondo Gallery, there is always a chance of an unannounced poster release at their booth.
All of Kevin Tong’s latest works will be available on Wednesday, Preview Night, at his booth #833
