San Francisco based artist Helen Bayly takes over the front room of White Walls Gallery for her solo exhibition ‘Raised on Promises‘ opening tonight at 7PM.
Bayly’s latest body of work finds her at play in the realm of classical painting techniques and her unique brand of humor — connecting Americana and that concept of the ‘good life’ through gold leaf and images of high living.
‘Raised on Promises‘ is a visual dialogue on our concepts of success and suburban decadence. Bayly’s women exist in the revered spirit of Peter Paul Rubens, their forms are classic and heavenly, draped in Bayly’s lattice of flavors like varieties of hard candy.
