Canadian based artist Jason Edmiston just announced that once again he’ll have a booth at Comic-Con and will have a slew of new releases to show off. Edmiston will be at Booth #5015 in the Illustrator’s Section.
Edmiston’s recent work for the Spoke Art exhibit ‘Quentin vs Coen’ will be making it’s debut on Edmiston’s table as will his ‘Tiny Features‘ slasher designs and prints of his ‘Godzilla‘ painting.
Outside of the work he’s done that he’s announced for Comic-Con, Edmiston has been incredibly busy — he’s turned out some of his strongest work, earning the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Artist of the Year for his work with Rue Morgue and HorrorHound magazines.
Edmiston is an illustrator who advances his craft with each project, working through classic and contemporary horror properties with ease. His poster for the 40th anniversary of ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘ deviates from the classic Leatherface and chainsaw motif to put the film in a new and ominous light.
I’m crushed each time I see a new painting from Jason Edmiston — simply put, his portraits are brilliant insights into what causes fandom and the deep rooted affection we have for monsters and villains. Excited to see what surprises he brings with him down for Canada to the San Diego on July 24th.
As a bonus — Jason Edmiston is also one of the few (only?) artists to have his t-shirt be the only thing covering up Rihanna’s unmentionables.
