Illustrator Michelle Romo’s designs feel like the native language of a warm and cuddly other-world. There’s a delirious joy in her art — a pure burst of gut-level optimism and she’s used her playful style for clients such as Disney and Crate & Barrel‘s kid’s brand Land of Nod.
She’s spent some time creating whimsically inspired pieces for both The Flaming Lips and the Lips’ frontman Wayne Coyne’s Womb Gallery. In October of 2013, she was invited to fill the walls of the gallery with her work. Her designs put on the display the fact that there’s too much fun to be had, too much laughter and giddy-awe — too much awesome in the world to let yourself be bummed.
