In 1990 Nike ran and ad in Sports Illustrated for the fifth edition Air Jordans. The ad was simple. The black Air Jordan 5s on a black background.
Jordan, mid-career legend, mugging. ‘Buy my shoes, kids.’
I dreamed of those shoes. They were going to change my life and I tore that page out.
Absolute gut response driven by pure want.
The Australian design duo of We Buy Your Kids have a long history of amazing work. Their style is visceral — a punch and a tickle. I’ve dreamed of their ‘An American Werewolf In London‘ poster for a long time but since they didn’t have an online store, I was only left with that same nagging want.
This morning they announced that the We Buy Your Kids’ Ministry of Grim Emporium is alive and selling the artist proofs of countless posters and other goodies. It’s a dragon’s den of treasures hitting the light of day.
Prices range from $20 for art prints and $50 for posters. Below are a few that WBYK have released into the wild —
