Jason Mitchell and Stacey Ransom are Ransom & Mitchell, a San Francisco based duo creating still & motion based art pieces. Their work is in the actualization of fantasy, turning the imagined into a reality through photography coupled with digital manipulation. Models and locations transformed into a working set of surreal parts.
The work of Ransom & Mitchell has been used in various forms of advertising, but it’s in their fine art pursuits that their technical and creative prowess explodes into detailed fright-scapes.
Each artist’s portrait is a glimpse into both the narrative created by Ransom & Mitchell with hints into the subject’s own work. Bowen, dressed as knight, mechanical, a decapitated deer at his side like a walking version of one of his own paintings.
The end result is a brilliant series of a vivid and haunting portraits.
