Landland is the design duo of Dan Black and Jes Seamans. The two have made an impressive body of work since starting in 2007. In each design there’s a warmth. A heart. Their posters feel aged in tobacco and chimney smoke. Antiqued from the start. Their designs are lived in , like a warm blanket. Cozy.
They recently worked with Burlesque Design for the 2013 Summer Tour poster for southern metal band Baroness and brought that same homespun feel to the project. Baroness has progressed over the course of two full length records and last year’s double LP ‘Yellow & Green.’ They’ve incorporated more acoustic elements and built a pastoral tone into their machine of chugging of guitar.
Dan and Jes captured where the band is at these days. The heft of the whale, the purpled sky. The whale itself textured in primitive animals. Nothing frightening — just the power of nature.
