Landland’s ‘Kangchenjunga (The Long Haul)’

Chicago based illustration duo Dan Black and Jes Seamans (better known as Landland) have made an art print of their 2012 gig poster for the band Mount Eerie, an image fully charged and seemingly prepared for this exact moment.

After the birth of her daughter in 2015, Geneviève Elverum, part-time Mount Eerie member and wife of band leader and artist Phil Elverum, went in for a routine check up and went home with devastating news — she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. After exhausting themselves financially and turning to family, friends have stepped up to assist the Elverum family. For their part, Landland’s Black and Seamans returned to an illustration created for the band to help.

In their own words —

“Cancer is terrible, and horrible, and Phil & Geneviève Elverum are in an overwhelmingly rough spot with it right now, and have been for a while. This is a thing we can do to help.

RIGHT NOW: We are releasing our first-ever TIMED EDITION until 11:59pm on Tuesday, June 7th, of a reworked & re-contextualized art print version of our Mount Eerie tour poster from 2012. It borrows part of its title from a Himalayan mountain which—in situations of peril—will reveal treasures contained within. Among these, invincible armor.

We will be donating 100% of ALL SALES to Phil & Geneviève Elverum to help their family during this time. Edition size will be determined by the number of orders we get, and prints will be printed and shipped shortly after the timed edition window closes.

Additionally, if you would prefer to donate directly to the Elverum family’s GoFundMe page, here is a link to that:https://www.gofundme.com/elverum

Thanks.

PS: Please share this post. Please share the Elverums’ GoFundMe page. Help however it makes sense for you.”
