San Francisco’s Modern Eden Gallery has produced a string a wonderful exhibits since opening in 2010 and on September 13th they will play host to artist Matthew Robertson‘s solo exhibition ‘Our Ghosts Are Hungry, How About You?‘
Robertson brings his blend of the accurate and the abstract to his debut show — a striking collection of works with the tone of San Francisco, the city that Robertson was born and raised in.

‘A great deal of my creative energy is focused on developing a visual language that uses elements of both realism and abstraction to describe a subject.‘Our Ghosts Are Hungry, How About You?’ is a series of narrative paintings on childhood. Visually, these images explore the dissonance that arises when realism is paired with the abbreviation and exaggeration of form.’
