A Brief Look: The Art of Conrad Roset

By Chris Jalufka | 03.12.2014

Where a person is from can say a lot.

Place informs. Instructs. Gives you the dust of the land. Artist Conrad Roset is from Barcelona, one of those ‘old cities,’ and his work feels bred from those streets.

There’s inherent beauty to Europe, to Spain in particular. Roset’s paintings have that deep beauty. His brush is at ease and natural, finding the perfect color and shape for the figures he captures. There’s a fluidity and brightness in his compositions — flickering city lights over carafes of wine.

I’m not sure what any of this has to do with place, with Roset’s Barcelona, but it feels right.
